How It Works:
Microdermabrasion is a deeper form of physical exfoliation that uses crushed diamonds to remove the top layers of dry, dead skin cells that can dull the complexion and prevent products from sinking into skin. This quick 30-minute treatment resurfaces for smoother skin, improved absorption of home care products, and an immediate boost in skin radiance.
Who It’s For:
Microdermabrasion is ideal for clients looking to smooth out skin texture, remove dead skin cell buildup, or who suffer from dry/flaky skin. While it's great for clients with non-inflamed acne (or bumpy skin texture), we do not recommend it for those with severe inflamed or cystic acne.

We love Sandy Shores Microdermabrasion because it's a quick, effective fix for rough skin texture and dullness. For even better results, we recommend pairing it with a jelly mask and/or LED light therapy.

How to Prepare for This Appointment:
- Come with a clean face. Working on a makeup-free face lets us determine more quickly how to best customize your treatment and spend more time on your skin!
- Know what you're using at home. We need to know all about you and anything affecting your skin to provide you with the best recommendations and day-of treatment possible. This includes the names of any skincare products or medications/supplements you are currently using. Please come prepared to provide this information.
- Be flexible. We want the best for you and your skin! Sometimes that means we must adjust your treatment in person to make sure you'll get the best results based on your current skin condition. Please know that any adjustments are made with your skin's best interest in mind. We always recommend booking a consultation before your first appointment or if we haven't seen you for several months.
Pre-Treatment Considerations:
- We cannot treat clients with HIV, AIDS, or Hepatitis
- We cannot treat clients with melanoma or suspected skin cancer
- Consult your OB/GYN prior to your appointment if you are pregnant or nursing
- We cannot treat clients with active infections or cold sores
- If you have a history of cold sores, take a prescribed medication prophylactically for 8 hours before and 48 hours after treatment
- Consult your primary care doctor prior to your appointment if you have an autoimmune disease (lupus, scleroderma, diabetes, etc.), or are on anticoagulants or blood thinners
- No sunburn, eczema, or rashes in area to be treated
- No Accutane or similar treatments for one year prior to appointments
- No LED on clients with a history of epilepsy or seizures
- If client is allergic to Aspirin or salicylic acid, patch testing is required prior to treatment
- If client is topically allergic to shellfish, patch testing is required prior to treatment
Wait Times:
- Botox: must be done 5-7 days prior to treatments
- Fillers: must be done 7-10 days prior to treatments
- Chemical Peels: must have 30 days between advanced treatments
- Waxing in Treatment Area: must wait 5-7 days before or after treatments
- Wait 24 hours after a Lip or Eye Perk to receive Botox or Filler
